Instant Pot Easy Peachy Steel Cut Oatmeal

Looking for an easy breakfast in your instant pot?  Well you have come to the right place!  I was just fooling around in my kitchen one Saturday morning and thought, “I’ve got peaches.  I’ve got oatmeal.  Let’s try them out in the Instant Pot.”  Truthfully, it was about that simple.  4 ingredients: oatmeal, peaches, salt and water.  My husband now asks for this oatmeal and he was strictly an oatmeal and raisins man.  Not to mention it’s just one more easy thing I can throw into my instant pot and have something delicious come out.  If you need something easy, this is your recipe, but if you’re still apprehensive, read the Baby Chick’s post 9 Scariest Things About the Instant Pot (That Aren’t Really a Big Deal).  We now have this oatmeal almost every Saturday, and I couldn’t be happier.  🙂

Instructions
  1. Pour everything in and give it a good stir.
  2. Put the lid on the instant pot and set to sealing.
  3. Set the instant pot at manual 7 minutes.
  4. Natural pressure release or quick release. I've done it both ways, it didn't affect the outcome.
  5. Remove the lid. The oatmeal will look watery, but once you stir it, it starts to thicken up. Stir the oatmeal until it's to the desired consistency.
  6. Serve with milk, cinnamon, and any sweetener you think it needs. I like it just like it is. My husband sprinkles a little equal over the top.
Recipe Notes

How long it takes to come to pressure depends on how hot the water you put in is.  We have a hot pot, so I add my water into the can from that.  It ends up about 12 minutes total.  It really is as easy as pour in the ingredients and let instant pot do it's magic.
