Everyday I try to think of new and easy ways to use my instant pot.  Today, I decided it was time for applesauce.  Besides, HEB had granny smith apples on sale for 77 cents a pound.  I picked 5 large apples from the display and headed home to make me some homemade applesauce.  I really had no idea what I was doing, but I thought, “How hard can it be?”  Well, guess what?  In the instant pot, not hard at all.  Here’s the simple directions and the fabulous result!

Steps

1
Done

Peel and core the apples and cut into bite sized chunks.

2
Done

Pour into instant pot liner and add remaining ingredients.

3
Done

Place the lid on the instant pot. Set to sealing and push manual 8 minutes. Let it naturally release for about ten minutes and then quick release.

4
Done

Use a fork to stir the applesauce together until smooth or to the preferred consistency.

5
Done

Using a ladle, scoop some applesauce into a strainer over a bowl to remove any excess water. Pour the strained applesauce into a clean bowl or into the container you intend to store it in.

6
Done

Let cool to room temperature and store in refrigerator up to a week. If it lasts that long. :)
